I love Android for all the development and customization that it allows for. But one problem I've always ran into is the difficulty of upgrading a ROM/ switching between ROM's in lieu of risking a bootloop/brick. I get that sometimes a full wipe is unavoidable and is actually necessary, especially when switching between different ROM's on different versions. I'm very integrated and find the hassle of re-logging into every app, setting up my pages, trying to make sure my calls/messages remain, kinda of a chore and just takes up so much time. I would love to be able to try out different ROMs and update existing ones without always needing to do a full wipe or spend 3 hours recovering from bootloop and restoring app data + phone data.
I'm not asking for a magic bullet here but I'm wondering what is your process when you're updating a ROM/ switching to a completely different ROM? What are the steps you take when you flash a ROM to make it as efficient and time-saving as possible?
