I've got an Emerson EM744 el-cheapo tablet that I've had about a week...comes with the usual pre-installed apps. Comes rooted, thankfully.
I'm using Droidwall (popular, free app from the Play store), which is a very simple (too simple!) front-end for linux's iptables. I've basically got everything blacklisted, and use the white-list to enable traffic as needed.
Here's the puzzle:
Even with the FB app blacklisted, I'm still getting FB alerts.
I'm thinking that they might be coming through the kernel and / or system, which I *do* have white listed.
Here' something weird though:
Though I've got the kernel white-listed, the firewall logs still say that the firewall is blocking FB packets from the kernel...
Not liking this app too much right now, not to mention that it starts up automatically a few seconds after being killed...
Anybody got a decent handle on how to rein-in this app "gone rogue"?
