I will try to describe my situation as accurately as my understanding allows me to: I am trying to root an LG Optimus Net – P690 running 2.3.4. The PC I am using to accomplish this is a 64 bit one and running Mint KDE 64 Bit.
So far, I have attempted rooting through the following methods... and failed:
Manual: psneuter doesn't work and GingerBreak doesn't work: it ends in some 'vold-something' and goes on for hours and days. Psneuter ends in a tragic something ioctl controller.
Super One Click: I installed Mono; downloaded Super One Click 2.2 with working ADB. First, I couldn't get Super One Click to respond when I press the “Root” Button; after some running around, I fixed that. Now, Super One Click responds; it comes as far as “Waiting for Device hangs there – completely unresponsive; Downloaded V-2.3: That ends in an hanging similar to the one stated above but on the right you have something “export-PS” - great progress.
An hour later, I read some post on some forum or website suggesting Shell Root and then, Root. Shell Root gets me as far as “Installing Busybox(Temporary) and – you guessed it – hangs.
Forgive me if this question has already been answered - I have yet to find it, you see. Isn't there even a single Homo Sapien(with a PC running Linux) who owns an LG P690.
All and any help will be appreciated with the most aggressive of clicks on the thanks button beneath your post.
