My niece just broke her LG Cosmos and needs a 'feature phone' to replace it right away. She wants a slide out keyboard because she texts a lot. Any other features such as wi-fi are nice, but really just bonuses. Since I've been a smartphone user since the "Pocket PC Phone Edition" days, I don't know anything about feature phones.
Any recommendations on a used one under $30? I can get her the LG Cosmos for about $15, but I'm wondering if there is a better phone for about the same price. Also, how can I tell if Verizon will allow activation without a data plan? I know for smartphones there was a certain manufacture date at which they forced a data plan whether you wanted it or not. Do they try to pull the same stunts with feature phones now?
