USB debugging FT to reach file system root instead of the emulated SD card?

I need to move files quite often from a Windows PC to an Android phone. When using the File Transfer mode of USB Debugging I only see the emulated SD card (/storage/emulated/0), but the data of those applications which I want to modify are not on the emulated SD card. They are at /data/data/... My device is on Android 9 Pie (MIUI 10) and rooted (and has no external SD card.)

Can I tweak something in the system image so that USB Debugging FT allows me to access /data/data/ ? I read the limitation was implemented to prevent risks for the OS. Anything special I would need to take care of when tweaking?

If that is not an option, can I move apps or just the apps data to the emulated SD card? Since my device has no external SD card nothing is foreseen under Settings > Manage apps. Can I do it using Link2SD or something similar? At Link2SD I would need to choose (pp file, dalvik-cache, lib files, internal data. In my case I assume I would choose internal data only or all of it? I recall that not all apps can moved. Are there risks of corrupting it totally without easy backout?

Thanks for your advice!
