My mom is 70, I am sending her first smart phone this week so she can see my newborn son. She is not good with technology. I have programmed her phone to be fairly 'mess up' (refuse to call my mom a idiot) proof. I've managed to lock out a lot of features, fix the launcher with only some 'starter' apps, etc.
BUT my one concern is I live in Sweden. She is in Louisiana, usa. She has no one else to help her if she accidentally messes something up. I have teamviewer that I can use to access her phone (I've already set it up and saved device ids). But I'd love to have a procedure or some way to save a image of the phone before I send it to her, that I can just restore easily.
I understand this would likely need to be done with a custom ROM, (please tell me if there is a easier way!). I am a quick study, but I have no idea where to start to learning to make a custom ROM of a established system, and the setup of homescreens etc.
Please someone help me. I haven't seen my mom in 4 years and I really want her to see my son.
And the phone is a Galaxy Note 3, Running 4.4.2.
