New tablet, new SD card, bought less than a week ago. I copied my files in 2 batches, the first from the first batch copied correctly and are still in place. The files from the second, yesterday, also copied correctly and everything worked fine until I turned my tablet off. Today when I turned it on, I got some SD card related message, and after connecting to PC in order to copy remaining files I noticed the files from the second batch are all gone. I managed to recover them from lost.dir (an hour of checking contents and renaming each one) but I sure don't want to do that on every restart. Anyone have any ideas why it may happened and what can I do to prevent it in the future?
Android 7, not rooted yet. I didn't touch the SD card since inserting it initially. Files were all 20-150mb .rar files with couple hundred .jpg images inside (book and manga scans) and I was using them with PerfectViewer. These are the only files that disappeared, other types of files I copied at the same time, but to different locations, are all in place. I didn't delete them by mistake and I didn't have them open when shutting down.
