I forgot the password to my old phone (Samsung Note 4, Android 4.4, Stock everything, never rooted, no custom recovery, USB debugging not turned on). The main reason I want to unlock it is so I can get my data off of it, so a factory reset completely defeats the purpose. Is there any way for me to unlock this thing without sitting there and trying possibly millions of combinations? I've just heard of AROMA, can that be set up without my data getting wiped? I tried googling about it but got conflicting answers. Also, the phone doesn't show up in Google's device manager and I don't have a Samsung account.
If AROMA wouldn't work, is there any way to run a brute force attack on it from my win 7 PC? I'll let it run for years if that's what it takes.
